Problem
This factory repurposes used plastics such as polypropylene and high-density polyethylene which are crushed, washed, and processed into reusable materials. During the wastewater treatment process generated through cleansing plastics, sludge containing a high number of inorganic materials and fibers is produced. Our customer’s existing sludge dewatering equipment was unable to adequately dewater this type of sludge, causing frequent operational failures. As a result, running the dewatering machine continuously became difficult, which incurred significant time-loss in having to restart the machine.
AMCON’s solution
To address these challenges, AMCON proposed the VOLUTE DUO™. VOLUTE DUO™ is equipped with two screws within a single filtration cylinder, effectively shredding substances that tend to cause blockages with its screw blades. This unique design prevents clogging inside the cylinder and enables stable dewatering, achieving moisture content of anywhere between 65–70% in the processed sludge cake.
