Eligibility

Q1
Can I apply if I have already graduated?

A1Yes. However, if you have previously worked full-time for another company, your application will be considered under experienced-hire recruitment.

Q2
Do you hire international students and foreign nationals?

A2Yes. We have employees of various nationalities. Since internal communication is conducted in Japanese, business-level Japanese proficiency, including reading and writing, is required. You will also need an appropriate work visa/status of residence for your position when joining the company.

I am expected to graduate from a university outside Japan. Can I apply?

A3Yes. Please consult with our recruitment team regarding your preferred start date when you apply.

Are there any restrictions based on academic major or field of study?

A4No. Our employees come from a wide variety of academic backgrounds. Even if you do not have specialized knowledge, our training programs and OJT will help you develop the knowledge and skills you need after joining AMCON.
*Applicants to the Environmental and Water Quality Analysis Division are required to have completed coursework in chemistry.

I am applying as an experienced professional. Can I apply without prior experience in the industry or role?

A5Yes. Most of our employees joined AMCON without previous experience in the industry. Some positions may require a certain level of relevant experience, but the industry knowledge and specialized skills required for the job can be developed through training and OJT after joining the company. Please refer to the relevant job opening for details.

Are there openings for positions that are not listed on the Careers site?

A6We do not accept applications for positions that are not currently listed on the site. However, depending on your suitability and experience, we may suggest a different position during the interview process.

Selection Process

What does the selection process involve?

A1The standard process is:
Application → Application Screening → First Interview → Final Interview → Job Offer
The process may vary depending on the position and the recruitment circumstances for New Graduates and Experienced Professionals.

Can I attend interviews online?

A2In principle, first interviews are conducted online. Final interviews are held in person at our headquarters so that candidates can experience the atmosphere of the company firsthand.

Can I discuss my preferred start date?

A3Yes. We will take your individual circumstances into consideration and respond as flexibly as possible.

Working Conditions & Work Style

How are job assignments and work locations determined?

  • New Graduates

Your assignment will be determined during training after you join the company, taking into account your preferences, evaluations during the interview and training process, your aptitude, and the needs of each department. Your work location will be our headquarters.

  • Experienced Professionals

Your department and work location will be as stated in the relevant job opening.

What are the standard working hours?

A2Standard working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including a one-hour break, for a total of eight working hours per day.
This does not apply to employees using the Reduced Working Hours Program.
The Water Supply and Drainage Equipment Maintenance Division operates on a shift schedule due to the nature of its work.

Is remote work or working from home available?

A3Due to the nature of our work and our emphasis on face-to-face communication, employees generally work from the office. In certain individual circumstances, such as childcare, family care, or health-related needs, working from home may be permitted for a limited period or number of days after consultation with the employee’s supervisor.

How much overtime is there?

A4Average monthly overtime is 14.6 hours (FY2025). Actual overtime may vary depending on the position and time of year.

Are employees required to relocate?

A5In principle, there are no mandatory transfers. In exceptional cases, such as the opening of a new sales office, positions may be offered internally. Any such transfer would be based on the employee’s own preference.
