Water and Environmental Machinery Division

Water and Environmental Machinery Division Director

We develop, manufacture, and sell equipment designed to dewater sludge generated during wastewater treatment processes, helping reduce the volume of industrial waste requiring disposal. In addition to our core lineup of sludge dewatering and sludge thickening equipment, we also provide water treatment systems that condition process water to meet required quality standards for manufacturing and other applications. Our products are utilized across a wide range of industries and facilities both in Japan and around the world.

An Environment Where the Following People Can Thrive

This is an exciting environment for those who want to take on new challenges and expand the scope of their work. As a relatively small organization, we place great value on cross-functional collaboration, often forming task teams that span multiple departments. We are looking for individuals who find motivation and fulfillment in working beyond the boundaries of a single job function.
One of AMCON’s strengths is its supportive culture. When an employee takes the initiative to tackle a challenge, colleagues actively provide support to help achieve meaningful results. Regardless of age or years of service, we value and recognize initiative, ownership, and a proactive mindset.

Sales Administration Unit

Domestic Sales

We engage in both new business development and account management, proposing the introduction of AMCON products and the replacement of existing dewatering equipment to plant engineering companies, trading firms, government agencies, and end users.
Responsibilities cover a broad range of activities, including sludge sample testing, on-site inspections, preparation of proposals and quotations, specification meetings, delivery coordination, market research, and sales planning.
While balancing customer requirements, technical considerations, cost targets, and delivery schedules can be challenging, this role offers the satisfaction of directly contributing to customer success and developing a broader business perspective beyond conventional sales activities.

International Sales

We are responsible for the sales and proposal-based marketing of sludge dewatering equipment across North America, Asia, South America, Oceania, and other global markets.
Responsibilities include customer development, market research, sales planning, strengthening alliances with overseas distributors, and providing commissioning and operational guidance when equipment is installed. Each salesperson develops market strategies tailored to their assigned countries and has significant autonomy, from selecting business partners to designing sales approaches.
This role offers the opportunity to build a dynamic and truly global career while working with customers and partners around the world.
As with domestic sales, your proposals directly contribute to customer satisfaction while helping you develop a broader business perspective beyond sales itself.

Technical Service

This position is responsible for all aspects of after-sales maintenance services for AMCON products used throughout Japan and overseas, including operational adjustments and repair or replacement of components.
Responsibilities range from equipment commissioning and operational guidance at the time of installation to inspections, confirming equipment conditions and identifying issues through customer interviews, and internal administrative tasks such as preparing quotations.
A key feature of this role is that it goes beyond maintenance work alone, actively providing technical proposals and solutions to customers.

Production Control Unit

Procurement

This position is responsible for managing the entire flow of goods, from procuring the components required to manufacture our products to arranging domestic transportation and overseas export shipments to deliver finished products to customers. Responsibilities include supplier development and selection, negotiation of pricing and delivery schedules, receiving and inspection of materials, acceptance procedures, and coordination with other departments within the company.
Another important aspect of this role is the continuous effort to reduce costs. It requires a broad understanding of our products, from their materials to their structure. Through procurement activities, this position manages product costs and contributes directly to the company's profitability.

Manufacturing

Manufacturing engineers transform thousands of components into finished products based on engineering drawings. Because we utilize a cell production system, employees are expected to possess the technical skills and knowledge required to handle the entire manufacturing process, including mechanical assembly, wiring, piping, and performance testing. In addition to specialized knowledge of materials, machining, and assembly, this position is actively involved in quality improvement by providing feedback to the design and development teams on product usability and potential improvements.
This role offers the rewarding experience of improving products from the manufacturing floor and experiencing the true essence of manufacturing.

Design and Development Unit

Product Design

This position is responsible for all aspects of design related to existing products. Working closely with the sales and manufacturing departments, Product Design engineers handle customized designs that meet customer requirements, managing projects consistently from initial inquiry through order receipt and final delivery. Responsibilities also include a wide range of design-related activities, such as cost reduction initiatives, product improvements, and updates to technical standards documentation.
While close communication with both internal and external stakeholders is essential to accurately reflect customer needs in product designs, this role offers a strong sense of accomplishment when seeing products you designed operating in the field.

Product Planning and Development

This position covers the entire process of bringing new products to market, from planning and design to testing, validation, and sales promotion.
Working with customers in Japan and overseas, partner companies, and group companies is also an important part of the role. Turning an idea into a product takes persistent trial and error and rigorous performance testing. The process itself is what makes this work interesting. Because you are involved from planning through sales, you can hear customers’ feedback firsthand—one of the most rewarding aspects of working in development.

Quality Control & Production Engineering

This position is responsible for improving production processes and establishing quality control systems to achieve high quality, high efficiency, and low cost. Responsibilities include specification verification, standardizing inspection items across overseas locations, and managing progress from order receipt through shipment, among many other activities.
By promoting standardization and system development that do not rely on individual experience or customary practices, this role leads continuous improvement activities while eliminating dependence on specific individuals. It is a position that contributes to strengthening quality awareness throughout the entire company.

We help ensure the safety of all types of water related to daily life and industry through testing and analysis, from drinking water, swimming pool water, and bath water to industrial wastewater. We also provide a variety of environmental analyses and bacteriological testing services. Our role is to support our customers' safety and peace of mind through reliable data.

An Environment Where the Following People Can Thrive

This is an exciting environment for those who want to gain a wide range of experience rather than developing only a single skill, and who are motivated by work that allows them to receive direct appreciation from customers. At large companies, responsibilities are often divided by equipment or analysis category. At AMCON, however, inspectors are responsible not only for analytical work but also for sales activities and documentation. Customers are often surprised that they can speak directly with inspectors and receive advice on-site. By handling the entire process consistently, inspectors gain a deeper understanding of the purpose of their analyses and the ways in which they can contribute to customers, enabling them to take a more proactive approach to their work.

Analytical Technician

This position is responsible not only for laboratory analysis but also for a wide range of related activities. Responsibilities include sample collection, customer consulting, report preparation, sales activities, maintenance of analytical instruments, troubleshooting, and determining when parts need to be replaced.
Rather than simply performing inspections, Analytical Technicians work closely with many people, take a broad perspective to identify the underlying issues, and provide customers with the most appropriate information and services.
